She totally nailed it.
Cork was well represented on the Met Gala red carpet last night, with Glamour Editor Samantha Barry arriving at the biggest night in fashion wearing a gold lamé power suit.
The Glamour editor-in-chief, who grew up in Ballincollig, started planning her outfit more than a month ago, working with Alliétte stylist Jason Rembert to create the look.
Describing the big moment as the most “terrifying and exciting” of her career, Samantha posed on the long staircase at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the custom Aliétte suit, with a hidden Oscar Wilde quote—”you can never be overdressed or overeducated”—secretly embroidered into the jacket.
Her auburn curls were pulled to the side, Seventies style, with a pair of neat pins. Barry kept the glam going in her make-up, with a dramatic eye and a slick of red lipstick.
This year’s Met Gala theme: Camp: Notes on Fashion, saw celebs arriving in everything from a light-up chandelier (Katy Perry) and a Thom Browne gown festooned with 30,000 feathers (Cardi B) to a nude waterfall effect custom dress by Mugler (Kim Kardashian) and a billowing hot dress that came with its own entourage, worn by Lady Gaga.
