Cork’s own hot sauce hotshots are opening a new Italian-style deli in Ballintemple

Some like it hot.
But whatever way you like your sandwich seasoned, Cork’s newest deli will likely have a homemade sauce to jazz it up.
Brothers Felix and Alex Castaldo from Grange in Douglas, the enterprising foodie Cork duo behind Tongue Tied sauces, are about to open their first deli at The Black Market in Ballintemple.
Tongue Tied Deli opens on June 12th and all sandwiches will be €5 on the day to celebrate.

The Castaldo brothers have a reputation for producing red hot condiments (try the Red Chilli & Orange (Capo) aka “The Boss”, and the Habanero (Capo dei Capi) aka “The Boss of Bosses” if you’re curious).
The new deli will be stocked with freshly sliced meats including mortadella and Tuscan salami and plenty of sourdough ciabatta.
“We also have a few classic sandwiches hitting the menu with a Tongue-Tied twist,” they told us.

“All our hot sauce products either tie in with the menu or else you can get them separately; we’ll be selling our products here also.
“We’re going to be releasing new products regularly on-counter and we’ll keep the sandwich list growing with monthly sambo specials,” they added.
