Cork’s newest brunch spot is open – and the menu looks completely delish

If we had to pick one thing we frikkin’ love about Cork in 2018, it’s the wealth of top notch brunch spots in every part of the city.
Now there’s another swish new joint to add to your list and it’s a sister restaurant to one of our favourite coffee shops.
The Bookshelf at the Elysian opened this weekend, dishing up a full menu from 10am to 6pm during the week and a mouthwatering list of brunch options from 9am on Saturday and Sunday.
Whether it’s a hefty hangover-curing full Irish you’re in need of, or a hipster avocado creation with chilli and sourdough and a stack of pancakes for afters, they’ve got you covered.
Among the dishes we’re drooling over are the raspberry and white chocolate scones and the huevos hancheros – they even have a cocktail list if you’re in the mood to celebrate Sunday like a boss.
There’s bottled cold brew, speciality coffees by the bucketload and bags of tasty ground beans by The Barn to take home by the bag.
Oh… and peanut butter toasties with caramelised apple and pine nuts…
*drool*
The pizzas look legit too if it’s an Italian classic you’re after and the menu features a tasty selection of sharing options and sides if you like to mix it up with your gang.
The slick new branding was created by Chapter, who managed the full interior design and fit-out. Cork-based design studio MacLiam Makers also worked on elements of the space.
In short, it’s Instagram-tastic. Which we all know is almost as important as the actual food when you’re choosing a brunch venue.
