Cork’s gin festival is BACK: These are the dates for 2019

There are few things that get us more excited around here than gin.
Choosing the perfect tonic; adding the ice, popping in the grapefruit, fresh berries, a slice of cucumber if you’re feeling fancy; it’s all part of the experience.
Now we’ve got yet another reasons to count down the days ’til spring; this April 19th-21st, Cork Cricket Club will once again be transformed into a gin festival for an entire weekend.
The Spirit of the City, an outdoor event, returns this Easter with the addition of some of Ireland’s newest award-winning gin distillers along with a host of never before tasted whiskeys, vodkas and rums.
The best bit? The Monday is a bank holiday. Hurrah!
And if spirits don’t tickle your fancy, no problem; they’ll be serving a bar-load of tasty Irish and international beers to try too.
Live music acts already confirmed include UV5 and The Amazing Apples and there’ll be plenty of Cork vendors dishing up all manner of street food throughout the weekend.
No harm either because in fairness, soakage will be key.
Festival organisers say that tickets (€21) sold out last year, so it’s probably wise to move fast if you want to get in on the action.
