Cork’s First Fridays is back with eclipse talks, a night market, live music and more

By Yay Cork August 6, 2026August 5, 2026

It’s shaping up to be a lovely evening in town.

Cork is set for another night of culture, food and entertainment as First Fridays returns this week with a packed programme of events across the city.

Taking place on Friday, August 7th, the monthly initiative will see venues across Cork open their doors for a mix of talks, performances, exhibitions and late-night activities.

Visitors can also pick up the latest limited-edition First Fridays card, featuring unique Cork artwork and a QR code where people can share their thoughts on nightlife in the city. This month’s card celebrates “The Fountain” – the Sir John Benson-designed monument which was erected in 1860 where Tuckey Bridge once stood.

The full line-up includes:

• Art Installations Talk with Eoin Turner – Nano Nagle Place
Join sculptor Eoin Turner for a special talk exploring the inspiration and craftsmanship behind his glass sculptures at Nano Nagle Place. 6pm, €5 donation fee
