Cork’s drag stars are hosting a pink Barbie movie premiere party

Come on Barbie, let’s go party.
The new Barbie movie opens in Irish cinemas on Friday and Cork’s top drag performers are hitting the red carpet at The Reel Picture in Blackpool for the premiere.
Cork Drag Rec Room is inviting Barbie and Drag fans to come together for a night of celebration, fun, and plenty of pink to raise funds for the community group.
The movie will be screened at 7pm on Friday, July 21st and limited €10 tickets are on sale via the Cork Drag Rec Room Instagram page.

Ticket holders can expect to see stunning Barbie and Ken looks, get their pictures taken with performers, and soak up the atmosphere before being invited to follow Queen Mia Gold to Chambers for her weekly Friday night Gold Fever show.
“From what we have seen so far the Barbie Movie is about Barbie breaking the mold and finding her authentic self, and what is more drag than that?” said Cork Drag Rec Room chairperson Clío Lawton.
“We are inviting the public to join us for a campy, fun, fashionable night where they can dress as OTT or as understated as they like and get in the mood for Cork Pride, which is just around the corner.
The Cork Drag Rec Room is a volunteer-led group supported by Gay Project. It offers a safe and brave space for all queer folk and allies over the age of 18 who are interested in the art of drag.
