Look out for these on your next walk.

Billboard-sized versions of more than 60 rebel red and white artworks will be appearing around Cork city this weekend.

The visual treat comes courtesy of ‘Sconce’, a Cork Creates and Notes to Cork collaboration designed to give a visible voice to local young people.

The pieces were created by local young artists in-between lockdowns when small groups were able to meet up with the support of art tutors, youth workers and staff from YWI Cork and Foróige Youth projects.

“The young people of Cork will always rise to a challenge and I always like to give them one.” said arts tutor Davy Dummigan.

“This one was to create an image using a very limited colour pallet, red on white. Design was a key factor in the process and the results, well go see for yourself!”
