Cork writers will be gathering to discuss crime fiction in a cosy seaside pub

There’s a growing band of crime writers in Cork.
At the end of the month, some of the best in town will be gathering for a good old chinwag in a cosy Kinsale pub… and we’re all invited along to listen.
As part of Words by Water, the Kinsale Literary Festival, local authors Catherine Kirwan and Tadhg Coakley will be in conversation with Gráinne McGuinness at The Lord Kingsale on Friday, September 30th, 2022.
Kirwan grew up on a farm in the parish of Fews, County Waterford, later studying law at UCC in Cork where she works as a solicitor. Both her first book, Darkest Truth, and her second book Cruel Deeds, were Irish Times bestsellers.
Tadhg Coakley’s debut novel The First Sunday in September was published in 2018 to much acclaim. His crime novel Whatever It Takes was chosen as the 2020 Cork, One City One Book.
The conversation will be led by Gráinne McGuinness, Books Editor of the Echo and a confirmed bookworm.
The event will run from 9pm until 10pm and tickets are €12 here.
