Cork Weather: Met Éireann has issued a rather murky forecast for the weekend

Can we get a break around here?
As July trundles on under a cartoon rain cloud, Met Éireann has issued another less-than-ideal forecast for Cork this weekend.
Expect heavy showers, thunder and spot flooding, basically.
It will be a mostly dry start to Friday with some sunny spells, but alas: it looks like it won’t last:
“Slow-moving showers will spread from the west during the late morning and afternoon, some of these turning heavy with the chance of thunder and spot flooding.” said a forecaster.

“Light southwesterly winds will veer westerly in the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.”
The weekend will continue quite unsettled with rain or showers and temperatures will be cool for this time of year. Saturday morning will be dry with sunny spells, although there will be some showers in the afternoon and evening, with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.
Sunny spells and showers are expected to develope widely on Sunday, with some heavy or possibly thundery downpours likely in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are unlikely to creep above 17 degrees.
“Monday will see some early sunshine but showers will break out during the day, turning heavy in parts later.” added the forecasters.
