A few weeks ago, a camera crew took to the streets of Dublin to find out what the people of the capital city really thought about their neighbours in the south.
Their answers were an eye-opener.
Happily, the Entertainment.ie crew felt it was time to give the people of the Rebel County a chance to air their hurt feelings and reply.
Presenter Oisín hit the streets on Leeside, chatting to locals everywhere from Pope’s Quay to the GPO.
While ‘condescending’, ‘cocky’ and ‘arrogant’ were among the leading Cork descriptions of the Dublin massive, Cork people had plenty of positives to share too.
Damian Dempsey, drill rapper Chuks9ine and The Script got a free pass for musical ability and general soundness.
From the answers featured in the video, it’s clear that Cork people perceive Dublin to be a dangerous place to live. One gent interviewed said he would happily live in the capital provided he had round-the-clock security.
Overall, the Dubs didn’t get half the ribbing they dished out to us, but we can take that as proof that Corkonian people are generally nicer, more progressive and open-minded human beings.
