What are you up to Thursday night?
The legendary Cork Cine Club is back for its 26th season, promising a thrilling line-up of international gems.
A non-profit run entirely by volunteers, the club’s mission is to give local audiences the chance to see a range of world cinema not usually available on commercial cinema screens. Since its founding in 2010, the Cine Club has offered more than 200 of the best in independent films to Cork cinephiles.
Running from September 26th until December 5th, this year’s program boasts ten carefully curated films hailing from a diverse range of countries, including Germany, Japan, and South Korea.

Each Thursday evening at 8pm, the Cork College of FET, Douglas Street Campus, will be transformed into a haven for independent cinema lovers, offering a unique opportunity to explore the best that world cinema has to offer.
The season opens with The Teachers’ Lounge, a 2024 Oscar nominee for Best International Feature Film, scoring an impressive 96 per cent critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Set in a German secondary school where an idealistic young teacher’s relaxed rapport with her students is put under stress when a series of thefts occur at the school, an investigation leads to accusations and mistrust among parents, colleagues, and students.
Tickets €8.50/€7 are available online from Powertik or by cash or card at the door. For details, trailers, reviews and more, see corkcineclub.com.
