Cork artist redesigns classic Irish movie posters and they look unreal

These movie posters might be better than the originals.
Artist Ray Hurley from Ballincollig made good use of his time spent in lockdown, redesigning and reimagining the posters of some of the greatest Irish films.
The minimalist-style posters include such classics as In Bruges, Michael Collins, In The Name of the Father and My Left Foot.
“For such a small country, we have produced literature that is the envy of the world. In my opinion, Irish produced films don’t get the recognition they deserve. In some small part, I would love for people to rediscover these gems and feel inspired and proud to be Irish,” Hurley said.
The artist, who now lives in Dublin, says “the mission is to inspire people to revisit or discover Irish produced films that have helped to shape modern Ireland.”
Hurley was inspired by an old project he had undertaken in 2012 – to create prints for his girlfriend’s favourite films, in order to impress her. It seems she was sufficiently impressed, as they are now married with a four-year-old daughter.
