Cork Airport predicts this date will be the busiest for Christmas arrivals

Coming home to Cork for Christmas?
While arrivals at Cork Airport are down 40 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels, management is still expecting some busy days over the weeks ahead, with 60,000 people due to pass through the hub.
Just 8,787 passengers flew in and out of Cork Airport throughout the entire month of December last year, but numbers are up considerably for 2021.
Sunday, December 19th is forecasted to be the busiest day at Cork Airport for both arrivals and departures over the festive season, while the busiest day for departures post-Christmas will be Sunday, January 2nd, 2022.
In a statement, Cork Airport reminded all passengers to comply fully with COVID-19 guidelines as they pass through:
“Face masks are compulsory in the Terminal at Cork Airport and must be worn throughout the entire passenger journey, onboard the aircraft, and until passengers reach their final destination.” said a spokesperson.
“In addition, social distancing protocols should be observed and there is more than 55 hand sanitising locations throughout the Cork Airport campus.”
