Check out paintings inspired by poetry in the city’s newest creative space

It’s free in and all are welcome.
Artist, designer and poet Steph Sheahan will be exhibiting a collection of paintings inspired by her poems at her first solo show in Cork city on Thursday, April 28th.
The show takes places at No. 4 Tuckey Street, a new creative and wellbeing space, in conjunction with Poetry Day Ireland.
Sheahan, who creates graphic and colourful handmade jewellery and limited edition artworks through her company Punch + Fable, will be showcasing a “colourful and graphic interpretation of a collection of her poems through painting”.
“I find inspiration everywhere: through memories, travel, nature, the body, food, motherhood… I like to make tangible things from my ideas and experiences,” she says.
“My work crosses many disciplines; a poem I write may inspire a painting, and this, in turn, may inspire a pair of handmade earrings. Or a drawing may inspire a painted mural and this may end up being a limited edition frameable artwork.”
The exhibition runs from 6.30pm – 9pm at No. 4 Tuckey Street, Cork.
