Cake SANDWICHES are a thing – here’s where you can try one in Cork

Sometimes you just need a big heaping helping of straight sugar and carbs to help you get through the day and at one Cork café, they’re giving the people what they want.
The Boathouse Café crew in Coachford have added an intriguing new addition to their menu: The Cake Sandwich.
Constructed using two soft squares of lovely freshly-baked sponge (plain or chocolate) and topped with your choice of Nutella and caramel or lemon and raspberry jam with cream, each delicious sweet sambo is sliced into a neat triangle and packaged in its very own sandwich box.
That’s handy – you can devour it at your desk or save it for a nighttime snack while watching The Great British Bake Off.

You can pick up your own cake sambo along with a chai latte (or keep it healthy with one of their delicious Açai bowls) at The Boat House Coachford (P12VX47) from Tuesday to Sunday.
