Buy a plant, drink some coffee: Some Dose has found a new home in a garden centre

We’re always on the hunt for good coffee.
And now you can enjoy a potter around the plants with your mocha or espresso; the adorable coffee pop-up Some Dose has moved into Hanley’s of Cork in Frankfield.
Using freshly ground Roasted Brown beans from Delgany, Co. Wicklow, Some Dose is now serving up their delicious caffeinated beverages and a variety of baked goodies on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and on Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
Swing by for a brew and you can browse the leafy loveliness to your heart’s content while you caffeinate.
Run by Jarryd Kotze and his wife Tamzyn, an interior designer, Some Dose popped up in various locations during the summer as Jarryd and Tamzyn hunted for a more permanent home for the venture.
The couple moved to Ireland from South Africa in 2016 and Jarryd has scarcely been more than two feet from a coffee bean since: “I worked for Roasted Brown coffee roasters, then in a cafe called Meet Me in the Morning in Dublin 8.” he says.
“Then we moved to Cork and I work at Good for the Soul in Ballincollig, while taking a leap of faith and doing my own thing. I have been working in the coffee industry going on 10 years so it’s about time I gave it a red hot crack.”
Now you can find the Some Dose coffee van parked up among the azaleas and rhododendrons at Hanley’s: “We are situated in the covered outdoor plant section so we are sheltered from the Irish weather, but we are outside, which is perfect for the people who aren’t keen on being stuck indoors with Covid lurching around.” says Jarryd.
