It’s been a wild night of torrential rain and flooding.

Now Bus Éireann has announced a number of disruptions to public transport as emergency crews continue to clean up roads across the city and county.

The following commuter services are cancelled, diverted or delayed this morning:

  • Route 226, Kent Station – City – Cork Airport – Kinsale: service is not operating due to tree down – services diverted via Airport to Ballygarvan and Five Mile.
  • Route 233, Cork – Macroom and return: Diversions in place due to flooding. Not serving Cannons Cross to Inniscarra Bar diverted via Ballincollig
  • Lee Rd closed and Cloghroe to Leemount Cross closed operating via Blarney (inbound) and Ballincollig (outbound)
  • Route 235, Cork – Rylane – Stuake and return: Diversions in place due to flooding. Cloghroe to Leemount Cross closed diverted via Blarney.

“We expect weather and travelling conditions to get worse as the day progresses and into tonight and tomorrow, Wednesday,” said Cork City Council’s Director of Operations David Joyce.

We wish to advise customers of disruptions to Routes 226, 233 and 235 in #Cork due to weather conditions.

“Please avoid unnecessary journeys. Please don’t drive into flooded areas and please respect road closures,” Mr Joyce added.
