Bring your old clothes back to life (or swap for something new) at this Repair Cafe

Have a favourite shirt that needs mending?
It’s no secret that we are a high-waste society. But there are many pieces of clothing just hanging out in the back of the wardrobe that can be given a new lease of life and kept out of the landfill- with just a little TLC.
Starting Saturday, June 11th, Cork Clothes Swap will host a monthly Repair Café as part of their Sustainable Fashion Fair in the Black Market, where sewing experts will be on hand to offer you tips and tricks on how to mend and upcycle clothes.
They’ll even have sewing machines to repair items on the spot, so you can go home feeling like you have a new wardrobe and do your bit for the environment.

The café is a part of the exciting Sustainable Fashion Fair, which will host a men’s and women’s clothes swap, a Q&A on fixing clothes and making ‘creative upgrades’ as well as a variety of vintage clothes stalls, a raffle and food, and coffee stalls.
Both the Repair Café and Fair take place on Saturday 11th June, 12pm – 3pm in the Black Market.
