Borrow some amazing old cameras at this city photographers meet-up

Weary of digital perfection?
If you’re a photographer who yearns for the grainy, glorious imperfections of analogue photography, then listen up.
Cork City Library is hosting a Slow Camera Exchange Induction Session on Saturday, March 29th and it’s basically your golden ticket to their secret stash of vintage cameras.
You’ll learn how to wrangle these beautiful beasts, from loading film to exploring printing options (yes, actual paper!). And if you’ve ever wondered how to make your photos look like they were taken in a Wes Anderson film, this is your chance to find out.

Now, they’re not just letting anyone waltz in and grab a Sputnik or a Welta. You’ll need to prove your analogue prowess, which basically means you’ve dabbled in manual photography.
“Every time someone borrows a camera from the Camera Exchange Program at the Cork City Library, they’re not just taking a camera home to photograph.” say the organisers.
“With watchful eyes, they are exploring a different way of seeing and registering the world. They are discovering and trusting this beautiful process.”
Two sessions are available, 10am-12pm and 12:30pm-2:30pm, so pick your poison and get ready to join the cool kids.
