Books, coffee and no phones – this Cork club is all about slowing down

This Cork book club has one simple rule – put your phone away
If you’re looking for a slower, more mindful way to spend your Saturday afternoon, Offline Circle is inviting book lovers to swap screen time for page time with a relaxed, phone-free reading session held every Saturday at Clayton Hotel Cork City.
The idea is simple: bring along whatever book you’re currently reading, switch your phone to flight mode and spend an hour enjoying some uninterrupted reading in the company of fellow bookworms.
After the quiet reading session, everyone is invited to stay for a casual chat about books, life or whatever comes up. There’s no pressure to speak if you’d rather just listen, making it a welcoming space whether you’re arriving solo or with friends.

Organisers describe Offline Circle as a chance to slow down, focus and reconnect with other people in a calm, friendly environment – something that’s becoming increasingly rare in our always-online world.
The group meets every Saturday from 4pm to 6pm at Clayton Hotel Cork City, and attendees are encouraged to grab a coffee or drink while they’re there to support the venue.
Whether you’re trying to read more, meet like-minded people or simply take a break from endless scrolling, it sounds like a pretty lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
