Book your train ticket: There’s an eco-friendly Art Market happening in Midleton

This is our kind of weekend.
A quick train journey east will get you to the Midleton Art and Music Market on Sunday, May 21st, 2023.
A haven for artists and crafters, the organisers have taken an eco-friendly approach to the event. Their green policy means that the market is geared towards environmentally friendly products.
And they mean business – the rule is no reselling and no single-use plastic. They want to keep the creative vibe alive and kicking by only inviting creators into the space.
The Midleton Art Market, which gives artists of all levels the chance to showcase their work, is only a part of the wider three-day festival, running from Friday, May 19th to Sunday, May 21st, under the theme of “Art in a Climate of Change.”
The festival showcases the thriving artistic community of Midleton and the surrounding areas, with local artists presenting their work, stretching imaginations, and lifting the spirits of the community for the perfect weekend with the kids.
The festival promises a wide range of exciting activities, suitable for all ages with magical events like exhibitions, workshops, music, sound baths, meditations, and more, taking place in various locations throughout the town.
This year’s programme includes a Street Gallery by Backwater Artists, performances by Cork Light Orchestra, Live Portrait drawings, Autistim-friendly storytelling, free movie screenings and a comedy club.
There is no fee to attend, making it an excellent opportunity for families to spend quality time together.
The Art Market takes place from 11am-4pm on Sunday, May 21st in the Fair Green, The Green, Farmers Market Square, located next to SuperValu in Midleton.
