Blackrock Village Festival is bringing back its popular Dog Show this August
Step aside, humans. This one’s not about you.
The Blackrock Village Festival has announced the return of its Dog Show this year, inviting Cork’s good boys, good girls and absolute chaos merchants to battle it out for ultimate bragging rights.
Taking place on Saturday, August 22nd at 2pm, the competition will see pups of every shape, size and fluff level strut their stuff near the playground area in Blackrock Village.
There’ll be prizes for Large, Medium and Small dogs, before one very lucky pooch is crowned the coveted Best in Show.
We’re already emotionally invested.

Whether your dog is a perfectly groomed showstopper or the type who immediately rolls in the nearest muddy puddle, all breeds are welcome to enter, and it’s completely free.
Registration opens from 1.30pm, with all dogs asked to remain on leads throughout the event. The prizes are being sponsored by Conor Goold Veterinary Specialist, giving local pups even more incentive to bring their A-game.
If nothing else, it’s guaranteed to be an afternoon full of wagging tails, great escapes and at least one dog who refuses to walk in the direction they’re supposed to.
