Birdsong, Cork’s newest restaurant, is bringing ‘farm to fork’ to Cornmarket Street

The Glass Curtain has become part of the fabric of Cork’s VQ.
Now the folks behind the MacCurtain Street restaurant are branching out, with a new restaurant, Birdsong, set to open later this year across the bridge.
While plans are still in progress behind the scenes and an opening date is a while off yet, possibly up to six months, the grand plan is for Brian Murray’s Birdsong to take over the Cork Rooftop Farm shop on Cornmarket Street, in a move announced by the farm’s owner Brian McCarthy today:
“We are announcing the closure of our beloved shop on Cornmarket Street to accommodate the much-anticipated opening of Birdsong, the second restaurant of the esteemed Glass Curtain.” Brian shared on social media.
“Nestled on both the ground and first floor, this new addition will bring a unique farm-to-fork offering to Cork’s vibrant culinary scene.”
Happily, Cork Rooftop Farm will continue to operate its busy English Market Stall.

“While we say goodbye to our physical store, this transition marks new beginnings for Cork Rooftop Farm.” Brian added.
“We are delighted to confirm that our presence at the English Market remains steadfast, and we will continue to serve the people of Cork from our stall, ensuring our community has access to locally grown, organic and sustainable produce.”
