Aperol Slushies are the drink of heatwave ’18 – here’s an easy recipe

Last year it was all about the frozen rosé (frosé).
For summer 2018 however we’re raising our game significantly and busting out a tasty twist on the Italian classic.
Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for frozen Aperol Spritz – the grown-up slushie of dreams.
You don’t even need to splash out the big bucks to treat your mates to these, Aldi’s take on Aperol (Aperini Italian Aperitif) is only €7.99 and it works just as well.
Ready to dust off the sun loungers and serve cocktails on the deck?
Here’s the recipe, it makes two servings:
Ingredients
200mls prosecco
80mls Aperol
4 lemons, juiced
3 oranges (two of them juiced)
80mls simple syrup (boil one mug of sugar with one mug of water in a small pot and cool)
500g ice
Directions:
- Mix the prosecco, Aperol, lemon and orange juice (use some of the flesh too) and syrup together in the jug of your blender.
- Add the ice and blend until you get a slushy consistency.
- Pour into two glasses, add a slice of orange and enjoy!
