An enormous snail is taking a slow walk around Cork (and your kids will be captivated)

September is a boring old back-to-school month.
But once the first hectic weeks are finished, there’s some serious fun to look forward to for Cork’s kiddos.
As part of the Circus Factory’s Pitch’d Circus Festival, a giant snail will be captivating audiences for free at The Marina Market on Saturday, September 16th, 2023.
A Snail’s Tale features Mishelle the giant left-handed snail, with Knight errant Sir Babosa and his medieval hand-drawn selfie artist and musical accompanist, Isabeau. Taking (slowly) to the streets, the trio searches for love for the one-in-a-million Mishelle, while Isabeau records the derring-do of Sir Babosa.
“In exchange for help on their quest, Sir Babosa and Isabeau – who often find themselves very lost – may gift you with a portrait of Mishelle, and if you’re very lucky, a lovely, luscious lettuce,” they told us.

The magical production is the work of Dunn Create and spectacle creator, puppet maker and artist Caoimhe Dunn, who works with her partner, writer-performer Dominic Palmer.
A Snail’s Tale will perform a walkabout show in the Marina Market on September 16th, 2023 at 1:30pm, 2.50pm and 4pm and all are free to attend. You’ll find more information here.
