All these amazing Cork restaurants are serving One Plate for Palestine this month

By Yay Cork July 3, 2025July 3, 2025

Cork foodies are leading the charge on this one.

Fresh from the success of Coffee for Palestine, a nationwide fundraiser that saw more than 270 cafés pledge ten coffee sales to help families starving during Israel’s genocide, a new campaign aims to bring customers to the table for Gaza at the end of July.

One Plate for Palestine, started by Barbara Nealon from St Francis Provisions, Kinsale and Beverley Mathews from L’Atitude 51 in Cork City is underway, with a slew of Cork businesses already signed up to add one Palestinian-inspired dish to their menu and donate all the sales to the cause.

Diva Boutique Baker in Ballinspittle, St Francis Provisions, The Black Pig and Seeds Bakery in Kinsale, MacCurtain Wine Cellar, L’Attitude 51, The Bookshelf in Cork City, and monks Lane in Timoleague have confirmed they will take part.

“We’re inviting our friends and colleagues in Irish food and hospitality businesses — restaurants, cafés, bars, food trucks, market stalls, and anywhere else that serves up food — from all over the country to join us from Monday, July 22nd to Sunday, July 27th in adding a special Palestinian-themed dish to your menu with all funds raised from the sale of that dish going to the One Plate for Palestine fundraiser.” the organisers explained.

Your dish (or drink if you’re a bar) should feature typical Palestinian ingredients or dishes.

“The idea of One Plate for Palestine is very simple and very easily incorporated into your menu as a ‘special’ to feature over the course of the campaign, anything from a single day to several days to the entire week.”

To support the campaign, all you have to do is head to your nearest participating restaurant and order their special dish between July 22nd and July 27th.

For any restaurants, cafés or bars wishing to participate, see @OnePlateForPalestine on Instagram for further details and a registration form. Members of the public will also be able to contribute via an iDonate page.
