All the best hidden spots in Cork to enjoy a glorious bluebell walk this week

Bluebell season is here.
And if you’re looking for dreamy strolls, stunning photo opportunities, fresh air and peak spring vibes, you’re in for a treat this bank holiday weekend.
Fields and woodlands all over Cork are absolutely teeming with the beautiful blue blooms – you just need to know where to look. Don’t dilly-dally though, they don’t last forever and they start to fade in early May.
Your best bet for guided walks is the Seven Heads Walks Bluebell Weekend, running across the bank holiday. This event is all about getting people outdoors to explore one of Cork’s most scenic spots — with a mix of free strolls, community events, and a very wholesome “just get out and enjoy it” energy.
There’s even an official launch happening on Saturday, May 2nd at 2pm in Butlerstown Community Centre, with light refreshments afterwards. But the main event? The walks themselves — and there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for a gentle stroll or a proper leg-stretcher.
Here’s what’s on:
Friday 1st May: Fuchsia Walk – 7pm start
Trailhead: Courtmacsherry Rowing Club
Saturday 2nd May: Dunworley Loop – 11am start
Trailhead: Butlerstown Community Centre
Sunday 3rd May: Barreragh Walk – 11:30am start
Trailhead: Courtmacsherry Community Centre
Fuchsia Walk – 3pm start
Trailhead: Courtmacsherry Rowing Club
Monday 4th May: Inchydoney Bridge Loop – 11am start
Trailhead: Timoleague Abbey
All walks are free and guided, which means you can just show up, take in the views, and pretend you’re the kind of person who does this every weekend. Between coastal paths, greenery, and (hopefully) a few bluebells making an appearance, it’s a solid option if you’re looking to escape the city for a few hours.
