A vintage Prom night is a pretty good excuse to dress up for Valentine’s

Who will you ask to Prom?
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to dust the mothballs off your debs or wedding suit (and also a sneaky way to sneak in a little Valentine’s magic) now you can take a date to a proper vintage prom right here in Cork.
Love Songs Only will take over Cyprus Avenue on February 9th, hosted by House of Mockie Ah’s amazing Mia Gold.
“Our two musical acts for the evening will be the country’s finest Beatles cover band, The Beatlebums and Cork Ska legends, Pontious Pilate & The Naildrivers.” the organisers told us.

“Attendees are encouraged to don their best retro clobber; prom dresses, ruffles, velvet suits and dickie bows. We guarantee to transport our prom goers to a cinematic, multi-decade high school bop.”
Prize categories include Best Dressed (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s) and Best Valentines Day-themed outfit, so it’s well worth making a special effort for the night.
The best bit? The event is the grand finale of the Marymount Car Raffle Fundraiser; buy tickets for the Love Songs Only prom (€20 each) and you’ll also get an entry into the draw for a brand new Toyota Yaris Hybrid Luna, donated to Marymount by none other than Mr Roy Keane.
Book your tickets here to be in with a chance of winning.
