A Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for Cork and Kerry

It’s not the nicest start to the week.
After a glorious day of sunshine in many parts of Cork on Sunday, Monday has arrived cloudy and blustery today with outbreaks of rain, turning heavy at times and a chance of some spot flooding.
While forecasters say it will become drier for a time later this afternoon and during the evening with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, Met Éirean has issued a Status Yellow – Wind and Rainfall warning for Cork and Kerry from 7pm Monday until Tuesday morning, when they’re predicting we’ll be hit with “very strong and gusty west to southwest winds and spells of heavy rain”.

The alert is valid from 7pm on Monday until 6am on Tuesday.
The outlook is a little better for later in the week with forecasters expecting “changeable weather overall but rainfall totals will be lower than in recent weeks.”
