A rooftop BBQ is set to be Cork’s biggest singles party of the summer

Forget swiping left, right, and all points in between.
This August, Cork’s single scene is getting a much-needed face-to-face reboot courtesy of Your Friend, My Friend (YFMF), Ireland’s fastest-growing singles events company.
On Saturday, August 30th, the Sky Bar at Clancy’s, Cork City will host what’s shaping up to be the city’s largest Singles BBQ of the summer. With over 150 singles expected, the event promises juicy burgers, a rooftop buzz, and — brace yourselves — actual conversations with real people.
Yes, humans in 3D.

“We’re proud to be creating events that make meeting people fun again,” says Samantha Keating, co-founder of YFMF.
“Dating apps have left a lot of people feeling disconnected and disheartened. Our events are all about bringing real humans together in the same space — no pressure, no swiping, just a great night out with the potential for connection.”
The evening will mix relaxed mingling with light-touch icebreakers — a polite nudge if you’re shy, but nothing that feels like an awkward team-building exercise. Attendees are free to chat, laugh, and maybe even discover someone they’ll want to see again.
Part of YFMF’s Summer Singles BBQ Series, Cork follows a sell-out Dublin event and sets the stage for more gatherings in Limerick and Belfast.
Tickets are €37.50 over here and the fun kicks off at 3pm until 6pm on the day.
