It was a treasure trove of quirky accessories.
But we’ll have to look elsewhere for vintage sunglasses, wedding fascinators, crystals, and costume jewellery from now on: Bauhaus is closing its Cork city shop.
Co-owners Jill, Noelle and Ruby Morley have announced that the store will close next month.
“To all the customers and friends of Bauhaus. It is with great sadness that we are announcing that our doors will close for the final time on February 17th.” the business owners said in an Instagram post.
“Jill, Ruby, and Noelle would like to thank you all for your custom and support over the last six years. We would like to express our gratitude to The management and staff of the Corn Market Centre for your care and support since we opened our doors.

“We have enjoyed our time here and the friends we made along the way. Our customers became friends and we wish to thank you all.
“If we secure a new premises over the next few months we will keep you posted. But ’til then, a new chapter opens and this one will come to an end.”
Fans are gutted to hear the news, with many taking to the comments to show their support.
“Your shop was one of the few in the city where fantasy ruled.” said one.
“You will be missed but I know you will keep the magic going wherever you are headed.” added another loyal Bauhaus customer.
All vouchers will be honoured until February 17th so drop in before then to spend them.
