A Nineties horror classic will be screened at Cork City Gaol this Halloween

You can’t beat a Halloween classic.
But this year there’s an opportunity to catch one of the best Halloween movies of all time in one of the creepiest venues in Cork.
Scenic Cinema is back at Cork City Gaol for three nights of seriously spooky cinematic fun at the end of October… and this year, the line-up includes The Blair Witch Project.
Released in 1999, The Blair Witch Project is an American supernatural horror film written and directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez.
The fictional story follows three student filmmakers—Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard—who hike into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland, in 1994 to film a documentary about a local myth known as the Blair Witch.
The three disappear, but their equipment and footage are discovered a year later. The jumpy “found footage” is the movie the viewer sees.

They’ll also be screening Hocus Pocus and Paranormal Activity inside the old Cork City Gaol on Saturday and Sunday, October 28th and 29th, with The Blair Witch Project showing on Sunday and also on Monday, October 30th at 9pm.
Tickets are €15.50 here.
