It’s the perfect gift for a true crime fan.
And there are plenty of those around; a new book telling the gruesome stories of 32 true historic murders in Cork is flying off the shelves in local bookshops.
‘Murder Most Local, Historic Murders of Central Cork’ is the newest book in the Murder Most Local series by Ballycotton author Peter O’Shea.
The chilling read covers the area from Ballincollig to Mallow, Glanmire to Fermoy, and everywhere in between.
“Last year I covered most of the remaining murders outside of the city but still left a big area North of the city all the way to Fermoy and Mallow,” says Peter.
“I know a lot of people are going to ask where the hell is Central Cork but that’s just how it’s ended up.”
This is O’Shea’s seventh grisly book. His last five were also part of the Murder Most Local series. West Cork, North Cork, East Cork, South Cork, and Mid Cork sold out quickly in many outlets, but all Cork independent bookshops are now fully restocked for Christmas.
These books can be read in any order and contain 231 murder stories from around Cork.
Feedback from Skibbereen Bookshop reveals “it’s been absolutely flying off the shelves” and it’s already been restocked in Bandon Books Plus and Midleton Books.
