A mobile sauna is rolling up at a new East Cork beach this Friday and sessions are a tenner

“Guileen we’re comin’ atcha!”
Cedar and Steam, a mobile wood-fired sauna built inside a former horsebox, is hitting the road this week for a pop-up stop at a new East Cork beach.
The sauna, which is usually parked up at Ballycroneen Strand, will be open at Guileen in Whitegate from 5pm to 10pm on Friday, April 21st, so you can sweat out the stress of the week before a bracing sea swim.
The benefits of sauna use are many; not only is it a calming and relaxing experience, which can help reduce stress and anxiety, but the heat in the sauna helps to relax muscles and relieve tension.

The heat in the sauna causes blood vessels to dilate, which can improve circulation and increase blood flow to muscles and organs. This increased circulation may help with muscle recovery, reduce inflammation, and promote overall cardiovascular health. Regular sauna use has even been shown to boost the immune system.
The release of endorphins during sea swimming can also boost mood and promote relaxation so all in all, it’s a mean way to kick off the weekend.
The 30-minute shared sessions are a very reasonable €10pp sharing and the sauna seats up to six guests comfortably at any one time.
“The outdoor firepit will be stoked and on hand for gathering around post sauna and swim,” they told us.
