A Midleton girl has raised more than €1k by donating her hair to a very special cause

It’s taken three years to grow.
But kind-hearted Midleton youngster Lois Wylde is preparing to cut off her long locks this week… and it’s all in aid of a very special cause.
Lois will donate her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation, a charity organisation that works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss, in memory of her cousin Ciara Maber, who the family lost too soon in 2014.
Ciara was instrumental in helping to set up The Girls Club Cork, now known as the charity Cork Cancer Care Centre and little Lois has managed to raise more than €1,000 for the charity ahead of her hair cut on June 17th at Fusion Hair Design in Midleton.
Posting on Facebook, mum Niamh Wylde said: “Lois will be getting her haircut on Thursday so it would be great if we can give this a push in the coming days and help make a difference to the Cork Cancer Care Centre who rely on fundraising.”
If you’d like to make a donation you can find the GoFundMe account here.
