A magical wildflower meadow has totally transformed the grounds of UCC

It’s Instagram gold.
If your feed is looking a bit dull after weeks in isolation at home, get yourself down to the grounds of University College Cork.
Thousands of cheery Oxeye daisies have bloomed in the field below the campus during the lockdown, creating a vast sea of white petals just off the Western Road.

The UCC campus is managed to ensure biodiversity.
In fact, UCC was the very first university in Ireland to plant a wild garden and this is the second year the stunning wildflower meadow, tended by Head Gardener Jack Murphy, has come to life after being cut back in September.

The native flowers are proving hugely popular with bees and Jack says the area is also attracting plenty of city dwellers, who stroll in for a taste of the countryside.
Follow Jack Murphy on Twitter for an interesting look at the interesting collection of trees, plants and flowers within the campus grounds.
