Spa days are almost back on the agenda.
As beauty therapists prepare to warm up the treatment beds ahead of the grand reopening on July 6th, one Cork spa has revealed a new gadget that they believe will offer their clients some extra peace of mind.
Therapists at the Kingsley Spa at The Kingsley Hotel will be tending to clients who book in for facials from behind a custom-designed protective screen, designed by their maintenance manager Mauro Dias.
The clear perspex screen offers an extra layer of protection between client and therapist, while allowing the treatment to proceed as normal.
“Our incredibly talented Maintenance Manager, Mauro Dias has customised protective screens for our facial treatments at The Spa.” said a hotel spokesperson, sharing an image of the device on Facebook.
“The priority at The Kingsley Spa is to bring an unparalleled safe experience of healing and rejuvenation to all our guests. The Kingsley Spa guarantees a hygienic and sanitary setting to ensure your mind is at ease throughout your treatment whilst maintaining a relaxing and rejuvenating ambience.”
The hotel will begin welcoming guests again from June 29th, 2020, with the Health Club and Spa reopening on July 6th for visitors and members. A pre-booking system will be in place for the gym and pool facilities, while spa reservations will be taken over the phone or by email.
The new normal
We can expect much tighter rules on health and safety in Irish spas this summer.
‘’Guests visiting the spa will expect autoclave-sterilised tools, medical linen sheets and towels, and surfaces that have been disinfected with hospital-grade solutions,’’ said co-founder of The Irish Spa Association Peigin Crowley.
“We will meet the new expectations of our guests and our communities while retaining our caring core of empathy and wellbeing,” she added.
