Is your senior pet feeling a little ruff around the edges?

If your furry companion is at the age where they may be starting to forget where they put their chew toys, fear not! A Cork pet supply shop is hosting a day of pampering and playtime just for pets who have earned their senior status.

Maxi Zoo in Ballincollig, Turner’s Cross, Mahon and Blackpool will hold a Senior Pet Day this coming Saturday, September 28th.

It’s part of an initiative which has been running since the beginning of the month to help people understand the needs of their older pets.

Senior Pet Day is in response to statistics which indicate that a growing number of people are caring for older animals in their home.

A recent ‘Pet Owners in Ireland’ survey, carried out for Maxi Zoo, shows one in three Irish households has a senior dog, while one in four family cats in Ireland are considered senior.

On Saturday, September 28th, all Maxi Zoo stores will hold a Senior Pet Day between 12pm and 4pm, offering customers advice on the best food, toys, snacks and hygiene products for senior pets. As part of the initiative, a 20 per cent discount will continue at all Maxi Zoo Stores until the end of the month on selected senior cat and dog products.

Swing by on the day and see if you can add a little more life to your pets later years.
