Who says birthdays are just about cake?

To celebrate 14 years in business, obodo gym is inviting the people of Cork to a morning of free fitness, music and treats – all while raising money for a great cause.

Everybody Move – It’s Our Birthday takes place on Saturday, August 29th, from 8.30am to 1pm, with everyone welcome, regardless of age or fitness level.

Visitors can book into free 30-minute sessions on the row, bike and ski ergs, with the gym simply asking participants to donate the cost of a class if they can. Every cent raised will go towards funding obodo’s Revelate classes, which support people with intellectual disabilities.

And it’s not just about the workout.

The birthday celebrations will also feature DJ Stevie G on the decks, an ice cream van, Active Brewing’s non-alcoholic protein drinks, plus food, cocktails and plenty of birthday atmosphere at the Ballinlough gym.

The event is a chance for one of Cork’s best-known independent gyms to give something back to the community that’s supported it over the past 14 years.

Places are free, but booking is required through the obodo app, so if you fancy squeezing in a workout – and maybe an ice cream afterwards – you’ll want to reserve your spot early.
