A Cork coffee shop is hosting a tempting little Christmas Supper Club

Craving a sneaky date night?
If you’re on the hunt for an intimate night out for two, there’s a festive little event running across two evenings in town next week.
The Bookshelf coffee shop is transforming into a dinner destination on Thursday and Friday, December 22nd and 23rd, with a Supper Club open for bookings now.
“Our last Supper Club of 2022 is coming up next week and what better way to wrap things up than with amazing food and wine,” they announced on Instagram.
“There will be a four-course set menu that will be paired with some beautifully complimentary natural wines, from Le Caveau Wine Merchants. We specifically select each pairing in order to bring the most to your dining experience.”
The menu features starters of venison skewers, tzatziki, pico de gallo, sourdough flatbread, parsnip tart, and cranberry sauce, and smoked mackerel mousse with crostini, house pickles, and prawn butter.

For mains, there’s a beef pithivier in house puff pastry with mushroom ketchup, porchetta stuffed with turkey, black pudding, and apple sauce, and a nut roast Wellington with onion and thyme puree.
Leave room for a mulled wine trifle for dessert or plump for the chocolate and orange tart.
But wait; there’s more!
“We have a very talented string duet performing Christmas carols each evening to guarantee a beautiful Christmas dining experience for everyone.”
Sounds ideal.
