A Cork City pub is hosting a two-floor clothes and art market this month

By Yay Cork March 4, 2026

This sounds like a fun evening.

A Cork city pub is about to become a hive of creativity this month as secondhand clothing and art market Smacka Makka returns for its second instalment — and this time, it’s going bigger.

Smacka Makka Volume 2 will take over two floors of Liberty x Resistance Bar on South Main Street on Thursday, March 12th from 4pm–8pm, promising an afternoon of cool crafts, funky prints, reworked fashion and plenty of good vibes.

After a packed debut, organisers say this edition will feature double the creators, transforming the venue into a buzzing marketplace where visitors can browse everything from handmade jewellery to upcycled clothing — and maybe even leave with a tooth gem for good measure.

Among the line-up of creatives are jewellery designer @nikos.jewels, tooth gem specialist @bad.gal.bling, leatherworker @lee_leather_, and artist @asia_ciolkosz_art. Shoppers can also check out painted pieces and clothing by @kokia_rt, crochet designs from @kaytheletter, prints by @riona.denys.art, paintings by @saraataxi, clay creations from @markonolan, upcycled clothing by @pl0pstar, and intricate entomology art courtesy of @shadowbugsart.

Smacka Makka’s own selection of second-hand clothing, upcycled accessories and paintings will also be available on the day, adding to what’s shaping up to be a packed two floors of creativity.

And it’s not just about shopping. For those who prefer their markets with a side of movement, DJs @lomak.wow and @liahickey will be spinning tunes, giving visitors the option to browse or break out on the dance floor.

In keeping with the event’s community spirit, bartering and trading are actively encouraged — as long as both sides are happy with the deal. Organisers are also inviting fellow makers to get involved, encouraging anyone who creates crafts, clothes “or anything in between” to bring their pieces along.

Doors open at 4pm, and if the first event is anything to go by, expect a lively crowd and plenty of one-of-a-kind finds.
