Tickets are on sale now.
Local chef and foodie Nivene Sadick, who runs the popular Cairo 2 Cork food truck in the Fifth Quarter in Cork City, is hoping to treat customers to a taste of Egyptian culture on Saturday, March 14th.
Taste of the Nile, a Ramadan cultural night, will begin at 6.30pm on the evening, with guests enjoying a special menu traditionally designed to replenish energy after fasting.
“Join us for a special evening of flavour, tradition and community as we gather at sunset for a unique cultural dining experience in Cork.” said Nivene.
“Inspired by the warmth of Egyptian homes and the vibrant spirit of Cairo’s streets, Taste of the Nile is an evening designed to bring people together around food, connection and shared experience.

“Whether you are observing Ramadan, curious about the tradition, or simply looking for a beautiful evening out — you are warmly welcome at our table.”
Each ticket includes a full traditional Egyptian Iftar meal, featuring comforting and authentic dishes to break the fast at sunset. Guests will enjoy vermicelli rice (roz bel shaariya), fassolia (a hearty green bean stew), and a choice of grilled kofta or chicken, along with soup, fresh salads, dips and pickles.
To finish, there will be mini desserts, plus the traditional dates and juice served at Maghrib to mark sunset. This is a seated event in The Fifth Quarter in Cork City (the old Paul Street Shopping Centre) with limited availability to ensure a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Tickets are €25 per person and advance booking is required.
