If wine and cheese tasting is a bit too highbrow for a casual Friday night, one Cork pub is hosting a new take on the classic pairing.

Cheese lovers can find out how to match their favourite varieties with local beer at Rising Sons Brewery on Cornmarket Street on Friday, February 28th, 2020.

The award-winning pub, sports bar and micro-brewery has joined forces with the adventurous foodies over at Bia Sásta to host a Craft Beer & Cheese Tasting evening, taking place in a private room off the bar.

Kicking off at 8pm, guests will be guided through the cheese and beer menu, sampling five delicious Cork cheeses, each one expertly paired with a craft beer (Rising Sons currently produces seven lagers, ales and IPAs).

You can expect to learn about flavour profiling, tasting cheese and how to match certain flavours. Tasting notes are included too so you can set up your own private beer and cheese pairings yourself at home (every weekend).
