Cork folk band Cardinals has snagged a coveted spot on Rolling Stone UK‘s Ones to Watch in 2024 list.
The news comes just a fortnight after British online newspaper, The Independent listed them among the 10 musicians to look out for in 2024. Such is the acclaim, that the band is lined up to perform at the world-renowned SXSW Music Festival in March in Austin, Texas.
Rolling Stone UK has proclaimed the six-piece, fronted by Euan Manning, as part of the elite group destined to own the music landscape in the coming year.
The music mag curated a line-up of diverse talents – from Gen-Z shoegazers to rising Afropop stars – and Cardinals stands tall among these rising musical luminaries.
Describing Cardinals’ enchanting debut single, Roseland (listen to it on Spotify or Apple Music) Rolling Stone UK said the band seamlessly weaves brooding indie vibes with intense shoegaze elements, all laced with subtle shades of their Irish folk roots.
The result? A musical concoction that’s nothing short of curious brilliance. You can read the full article here.

And if you need further validation, look no further than Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten, who bestowed Cardinals with the ultimate accolade by dubbing them “one of my favourite new bands” on BBC Radio 1.
