A Cork baker is turning High Street post office into a coffee shop and bakery

It’s the best possible outcome.
Many were disappointed when High Street Post Office closed in 2022, but now there’s a sweet surprise in the works for locals.
Well-known confectioner and baker Ruairi Domican Byrne has announced plans to transform the building into a bakery and deli, with plans to be open by the end of 2024.
The baker said he was thrilled to announce the next chapter of the Rúairí’s Kitchen story, which has been in the works for a while.
“We will be serving delicious coffee supplied by our good friends at Cafe Moly Roastery, our signature cakes, cupcakes, brownies, delicious sandwiches, salads and yummy lunch items and we can’t wait to share our passion with you in a whole new way.” Domican Byrne told his Instagram fans.
