A city antique shop is closing and putting its entire contents up for auction

It’s a sad loss for MacCurtain Street.
But the closure of one of Cork’s most unique and authentic sellers of antiques, vintage furniture and curios could prove lucky for bargain hunters; Salvagem on MacCurtain Street is hosting a closing-down auction later this month.
The entire shop contents of Salvagem, No. 6 & 7 MacCurtain St. along with the store contents will be auctioned by Ray Alley Auctioneering online via Easy Live Auction and in person from 10am in The Beckett Suite at The Metropole Hotel on October 18th.
Approximately 300 lots to feature furniture, clocks, lighting, objects d’art, sculpture, rugs, oils, watercolours, and much more will be sold to the highest bidder on the day.

“I’m delighted to hold the sale in the historic Metropole Hotel.” said owner, Michael Wall
“Not only have they managed a wonderful transformation of the hotel lobby and surrounds, but they’ve been great neighbours over the past five years. It’s a pleasure to have the live auction hosted in such historic surroundings.”
Viewing will be open in Salvagem, No 6 & 7 MacCurtain St. from Saturday, October 11th until Saturday, October 18th.
