A brand new coffee spot to try this week (and it’s already brewing up something special)

By Yay Cork April 7, 2026April 6, 2026

In need of a post-bank holiday caffeine fix?

Yeah, us too. And if you’re in Kinsale, there’s no time like the present to swing by a brand new café.

Dána — Irish for bold, daring, and a little cheeky – officially opened its doors on Market Street over the bank holiday and they’re pouring delicious coffee from brilliant roasters around Ireland, brewed to your liking.

Behind it are Oisín Tegeler and Jen Buckley. Oisín is a barista through and through, after spending the last six years deep in the specialty coffee world across New Zealand and Australia. Jen, meanwhile, is a hospitality legend who was (thankfully for us) coaxed out of early retirement to help bring the dream to life.

And what a dream it is.

This isn’t just a grab-a-coffee-and-go kind of spot — although you absolutely can swing in for a gorgeous flat white or americano. At Dána, the idea is to slow things down a bit and explore. You’ll find a rotating lineup of batch brews and carefully crafted pour-overs to tempt you away from your usual order.

“When we decided to open a shop we wanted to create a space where people could come explore the world of specialty coffee, through multiple brew methods and origins.” they told Yay Cork.

“More than that we wanted to create a community around coffee and the rituals it evokes. When you come to Dána you can get your classics, like a flat white or americano, or you can try what we have on batch brew, pour over, or our single origin espresso.”

So whether you’re a full-on coffee nerd or just someone who appreciates a really good cup, this is one to add to your list this week.
