Oooh – you can take the kids AND the dog to this Cork city pumpkin patch

By Yay Cork September 22, 2026October 19, 2026

Pumpkin season is officially upon us.

If your ideal autumn day involves a pumpkin, a hot drink, a woodland wander, a few hundred photos and bringing the dog along for the craic, you’ll want to know about this.

Douglas Pumpkin Patch is returning this October, transforming its Cork site into an autumnal playground complete with pumpkins, an Enchanted Forest, tractors, animals and plenty of photo opportunities.

And yes – your four-legged family members are welcome too.

The patch has planted more than 20 varieties of pumpkin this year, so expect everything from tiny pumpkins and ghostly white varieties to unusual shapes, warty monsters and the classic big orange carving pumpkins.

In other words, picking the one could be harder than it sounds.

Once you’ve chosen your pumpkin, there’s plenty more to explore. Families can wander through the Enchanted Forest, check out the tractor displays, visit the animal park and hunt down the various autumn-themed photo spots.

There’ll also be cookies, sweet treats and hot drinks to keep everyone fuelled. And with Halloween just around the corner, expect plenty of spooky touches and a few surprises still to be revealed.

When is Douglas Pumpkin Patch open?

The patch will open from 11am to 5pm, with the last booking at 4pm. Douglas Pumpkin Patch, Douglas, Cork T12 R673.

It will be open on:

  • Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th & Bank Holiday Monday 26th October

Just remember: dogs must be kept on a lead, and owners are asked to clean up after them.
