Blackrock’s Village Festival line-up includes dogs, dancing and trapeze artists

By Yay Cork August 19, 2026August 16, 2026

There’ll be a special buzz down the Marina this weekend.

Expect live music, dancing, food, family fun and even a dog show as Blackrock hosts a packed weekend of celebrations as part of the annual Blackrock Village Festival from Friday, August 21st.

The fun gets underway on Friday evening with a free concert at St Michael’s Church, before the main festival kicks off on Saturday with a parade featuring local clubs.

The parade will set off at 12.30pm on Saturday, August 22nd, with the event officially opened by Lord Mayor Cllr Damien Boylan.

From there, the village will be filled with plenty to see and do, with live music, local food, community activities and entertainment planned throughout the day.

And there are a few new additions to the programme this year too.

Festival-goers can look forward to a dog show, trapeze artists, Mexican dancing and Irish dancing, while local bands will provide the soundtrack throughout.

Festival Chair Pamela Coniroy said the event is ultimately about bringing people together.

“The Blackrock Village Festival is first and foremost a celebration of community. It is an opportunity for neighbours, families and visitors to come together, enjoy everything our village has to offer and share in a weekend filled with fun, music and connection,” she said.

She also praised the volunteers, sponsors, community groups and local businesses who help make the festival happen each year.

Whether you’re heading along for the music, bringing the kids, checking out the food or simply fancy a wander around the village while soaking up the atmosphere, organisers say there’ll be something for everyone.

And with dogs, dancing, live music and trapeze artists all on the agenda, it sounds like Blackrock is going all out this year.
