Cork’s Nothing Café invites you to visit for an evening of whatever you like

Attention, night owls.
If the recent heat has left you with zero energy for packed pubs, sweaty evenings or trying to be productive, this Cork event might be exactly what you need.
The Nothing Café is returning for a second outing this Friday from 8pm to 11pm at Quay Co-op Café on Sullivan’s Quay, inviting people to come along, slow down and… well, do whatever they feel like.
The idea is refreshingly simple. Bring a friend, a book, some knitting, a sketchpad, a journal or absolutely nothing at all. There’s no agenda, no activities you have to join in with and no expectation to buy anything.
Organisers describe it as a space where you can simply exist for a few hours in good company.

Hot water and tea will be available on the night, but you’re also welcome to bring your own mug and favourite brew. While there’s no charge to attend, donations towards the cost of hiring the space are appreciated.
The event also offers a chance to learn more about the Nighttime Co-op, the community group behind the gathering, which encourages people to create and host their own events as part of Cork’s growing alternative nightlife scene.
So if your ideal Friday night involves escaping the heat, switching off for a while and embracing the art of doing absolutely nothing, you’ve just found your plans.
